Dear Users,
We have recently migrated to a new server space, and with this migration, several important changes have been made. Below is a summary of these changes and what you need to know:
1. PHP Mail Function Disabled
The PHP mail()
function has been disabled on the new server for enhanced security and performance. If your WordPress website relies on this function for sending emails, it will no longer work. We recommend using the WP Mail SMTP plugin to handle all outgoing emails. This plugin allows you to configure a reliable SMTP service to ensure your emails are delivered successfully.
2. Default Email Accounts and Inbox Delivery
Default email accounts created within hosting control panels like DirectAdmin are no longer supported for reliable inbox delivery. Emails sent from these accounts may end up in spam folders or be blocked entirely. We advise you to transition to a premium email service such as Google Workspace to ensure your emails reach their intended recipients.
3. New Webmail Login URL
The new webmail login URL is now domain.com/webmail. Please update your bookmarks and start using this new URL to access your webmail. The old URL is deprecated and will no longer be supported.
4. Updated DNS Information
The DNS settings have been updated to the following:
- New DNS:
ns1.wspdns.com
andns2.wspdns.com
- Old DNS:
ns1.webservicespoint.com
andns2.webservicespoint.com
are no longer supported.
Please ensure that your domain’s DNS settings are updated to the new nameservers to avoid any disruption in service.
5. Generate SSL Certificate After DNS Change
After updating your DNS settings to the new nameservers, you will need to generate a new SSL certificate to secure your website. To do this:
- Log in to DirectAdmin: Access your hosting control panel using the new URL at domain.com:2222.
- Navigate to SSL Certificates: In the DirectAdmin dashboard, go to the SSL Certificates section.
- Generate SSL Certificate: Choose the first option to generate a free SSL certificate (Let’s Encrypt). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
This step is crucial for maintaining a secure connection (HTTPS) on your website.
6. New DirectAdmin Login URL
The DirectAdmin login URL has changed to domain.com:2222. Please use this new URL to access your hosting control panel. This change enhances security and ensures that you are accessing the latest version of the control panel.
7. Passwords for Most Logins Remain the Same
For your convenience, the passwords for most of your logins, including email and cPanel, remain unchanged. You can continue to use your existing credentials to access these services.
Conclusion
We hope this summary helps you smoothly transition to the new server environment. Please take the necessary actions based on the points above to ensure uninterrupted service. If you encounter any issues or have any questions, our support team is here to assist you.
Thank you for your cooperation during this migration.
Best regards,
Team WSP
